The fact that Vladislav Kurysko agreed to join the Supervisory Board of the KRAN Charitable Foundation is not just an honour for us. It is a real boost, because Vladislav is a person who has gone through what we exist for.
Before the full-scale war, he was an athlete and Ukrainian record holder in superhuman loads, triathlons, marathons, and ultramarathons on water and running. A strong body, an even stronger character.
When the war began, Vladislav joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the 210th Special Assault Battalion ‘Berlingo,’ which has now grown into a regiment. His pseudonym is ‘Hannibal.’ During his service, Vladislav received awards from the President, the Ministry of Defence, the Commander-in-Chief, and the unit’s command.
In January 2023, while carrying out a combat mission, Vladislav was seriously wounded. The diagnosis was severe spinal injury. Complete loss of mobility.
The doctors refused to take him on – it was too complicated. But his friends and relatives did not give up and found the NODUS clinic, our foundation. The only person who agreed to fight for him was Dr. Alexander Kulik. His friends also helped to ensure that Vadym could continue his treatment and rehabilitation. Early technological neurorehabilitation, a team of experienced doctors, the help of benefactors, and Vladislav’s superhuman willpower yielded results.
He didn’t just come back to life, he became someone who helps others.
Vladislav was a patient at the clinic supported by our foundation. He saw everything from the inside: rehabilitation, pain, victories, despair and hope. That is why we invited him to join the Supervisory Board. Because such a person is not a symbol, but experience. He is alive, real, unvarnished, and his words are something we want to engrave: “Realise the scale of the threat and the problem and the impossibility of hiding from it. Either you are in the Armed Forces, or you are for the Armed Forces. Contribute to victory either through service, donations, or volunteering. If you can’t work for victory, at least don’t work for defeat.”
We are proud to have Vladislav with us. And we know that together we will achieve even more.
